Android testing privacy notice.
This notice applies only to participants in the Nudge Android closed-testing study recruited through Prolific.
Last updated: August 14, 2026
who is responsible
The data controller for this study is Abhinav Chauhan, an independent researcher operating Nudge. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@nudgeclean.app.
data collected
- The email address of the Google account used to join the private Google Group and Google Play closed test may be visible to the group owner.
- Your Prolific ID is used to create a pseudonymous Nudge test-account alias and to connect study tasks with app activity.
- Pseudonymous app activity may include screens used, cleaning tasks, session events, device and operating-system information, and diagnostic logs.
We do not ask for your name, personal email address separately, phone number, home address, government ID, payment information, or passwords. Test accounts are issued by the researcher. Never send us your Google password or any other personal login credential.
purpose and lawful basis
The Google-account address is used only to grant, maintain, and revoke access to the Google Play closed test. Pseudonymous study data is used to evaluate app reliability and usability and to confirm completion of the testing tasks. It is not used for marketing, advertising, identity matching, or automated decisions.
The lawful basis is your consent. Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us through Prolific or the support address above, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
storage and security
The Google-account address remains in the private Google Group and Google Play access controls. It is not copied into the research dataset or the Nudge database. Access is limited to the researcher account, which is protected by two-factor authentication.
Pseudonymous app and study data is kept separately using restricted-access systems, encrypted connections, and Supabase row-level security. Participants must not enter identifying information in tasks or upload images containing people, documents, addresses, or other identifiers.
service providers
Google provides the private Group and Play closed-test access. Prolific provides recruitment, consent, messaging, and participant payments. Supabase hosts pseudonymous accounts and app data; PostHog EU and Sentry process pseudonymous analytics and diagnostics; RevenueCat manages the promotional test entitlement. No participant will be asked to make a purchase or provide financial information.
retention
Google Group membership and the visible Google-account address will be removed within 30 days after the study and the required Google review period have ended, or sooner if you withdraw. Pseudonymous study records may be retained for up to 12 months for analysis and audit, then deleted or aggregated so they no longer relate to an individual participant.
your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your personal data, and you may withdraw from the study. Contact us through Prolific or the support address above and identify yourself only by your Prolific ID. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for you.
