Tody alternative, and what leaving Tody actually costs
Tody is cheap and it is good at the thing it does. If you are searching for a Tody alternative it is worth being precise about which part is not working, because two of the three usual reasons point straight back at Tody.
short answer
Tody Solo is $9.99 a year, the cheapest app in this comparison, and its official site describes managing cleaning by area and need rather than by weekday. Nudge is $49.99 a year and has no points, levels, or streaks. Leaving Tody for Nudge costs you $40 a year and a working routine manager. What it buys is help with starting.
Built from the can't-start problem, not a perfect-home ideal
I build Nudge alone, and I live with executive dysfunction. I designed it around one tiny action, changing capacity, and restarting without a missed-day penalty—the cleaning support I wanted to use myself.
What Tody is good at
Tody's official site describes managing household cleaning by area and need rather than tying every chore to a fixed weekday, and describes the basic version as feature complete for a single user. Areas build up over time and you clean whatever needs it most. If your problem is remembering what is due, that design is a good answer to it, and at $9.99 a year for Tody Solo it is the cheapest answer in this comparison by a wide margin.

Tody Solo is $9.99 a year. Nudge Premium is $49.99 a year, or $6.99 a month, or $2.99 a week. Both were read on 2026-08-11.
Nudge is five times the annual price of Tody Solo. If you are switching to save money, stop reading here, because you will not.
Three reasons people look for a Tody alternative
- Price. If this is your reason, Tody already wins. Tody Solo is $9.99 a year and everything else in this comparison costs more, including us.
- Setup. Tody wants you to describe your home before it becomes useful. If the setup is the thing you never finished, a different setup is not the fix. What you need is something that works on a room you have not configured.
- The rooms getting dirtier. Tody shows areas building up over time. That is the feature, and for a lot of people it is exactly why it works. If watching a room drift toward needing attention is what makes you avoid opening the app, that is the one reason an app with no scorekeeping is worth $40 a year more to you.

When Tody is the better choice
- Price is the deciding factor. Tody Solo is $9.99 a year and nothing here beats it.
- Your problem is remembering what is due, not starting once you know.
- You want a whole-home overview and you are happy to set one up.
- You are not on an iPhone.
- A room that visibly needs attention reads as a useful prompt to you, not a reason to avoid the app.
When Nudge is the better choice
- You downloaded Tody and never finished setting it up.
- You already know exactly what needs cleaning and still cannot start.
- Watching a room drift toward overdue is what makes you stop opening the app.
- You want the plan to shrink on a low-energy day instead of staying the same size.
- You are on iPhone and $40 a year is worth having nothing keep score.
Both have a free tier. Here is ours, exactly.
Nudge free includes unlimited rooms, unlimited tasks, and the cleaning timer, plus three guided cleaning sessions a week, two Panic Clean sessions a week, three task breakdowns a week, one Scan My Mess starter scan, and the five-minute reset and Momentum view.
Tody's own site describes its basic version as feature complete for a single user, which is a genuinely strong free offer and stronger than ours on paper. Both apps have something free. Neither of us is going to pretend the free tier is the whole product.
Two other apps worth a look
Sweepy
$19.99 a year. Its official site describes shared household chores, automatically generated schedules, effort points, and a leaderboard.
Tidywell
The closest competitor to Nudge on tone. It leads with “Never red, never angry”, offers unlimited streak freezes and a Low Spoons mode, has a more generous free tier than ours, and costs $39.99 a year. If gentle is what you are shopping for, it belongs on your list.
Sweepy vs Tody
If Tody is on your list, Sweepy probably is too. They are answers to two different questions and this page separates them.
Nothing builds up. Nothing turns red.
Nudge is free to download on iPhone, and the free tier does not expire. Premium is optional at $49.99 a year, which is $40 more than Tody Solo, and what you are paying for is an app that keeps no score at all.

How we checked, and when
Prices and features were read on 2026-08-11 from each app's own website or current App Store listing. Where a claim comes from a competitor's own material we say so and link to it. We do not hold paid accounts on every app and we have not run them side by side for months, so treat this as a careful reading of what each maker publishes rather than a lab review.
Apps change their pricing and their free tiers, sometimes in the same week. Confirm anything that matters to you in the store before you subscribe. If something here is out of date or wrong, email support@nudgeclean.app and we will correct it. Read the corrections policy
Nudge organizes cleaning tasks; it does not diagnose or treat ADHD.
